We are continuing with our sermon series ‘Proclaiming With’ and this week we are continuing thinking about God’s people in the New Testament, proclaiming with Peter ‘Salvation is found in no one else’. Our Scripture reading will be Peter’s speech in Acts Acts 4:1-23

Bradford Theology School

Bradford Theology School is running a new Year 1 course in 2024. This equips students with Foundations in Christian Theology. They have an open day on September 9th. This gives people interested in the course the opportunity to experience a day of teaching with the school, hear about the vision and values and ask any questions they have. Robin Gamble retirement service – Sunday, 1 October 2023, 6:00pm at Bradford Cathedral

Robin Gamble, Bishop’s Advisor in Church Growth, retires this autumn. All are invited to come and celebrate his dynamic and fruitful ministry as a parish priest and as an encourager of evangelism. Funeral of Alan Bean

A long term member of St Paul’s Church died last week.  Alan’s funeral service will be at St Paul’s at 2pm on Friday 1st September 2023 – afterwards there will be some refreshments and then the committal at Nab Wood Crematorium at 3.40.

Funeral of Alan Bean

Our CofE Like

From Monday 14th- Sunday 20th August Emma will be in charge of the ‘Our CofE’ Twitter account- sharing a week in the life of our parish from the Curate’s perspective! This means she’ll be taking lots of photos throughout the week and sharing the range of different things we do as a parish. If you don’t want to be in any photos which go on social media, chat to Emma and she’ll make sure to avoid you!

Licensed Lay Minister

Angela Chorlton has completed all the academic side of the Licensed Lay Minister course.  There was a commissioning 2 weeks ago – she won’t be licensed for another year.  But she has been commissioned and sent out to our Parish!!

Many congratulations to St Philip’s Primary School who have been given a ‘Good’ in their recent OFSTED inspection.  Special thanks to Denise who chairs the School Board and Clare who is on the board.  This is the result of a LOT of hard work and sacrificial giving of time and energy (and sometimes tears!).
