Roots and Routes – Meals and Migration – our Parish Recipe Book

Our RESTORE community work team made a Recipe book to reflect the many stories and types of food represented in our Parish.  You can hear some of the stories from the book here

In June 2024 we had a wonderful celebration of our Recipe book – and Rajah Spices came to film for us:

From the Introduction:

We are a community of people living life in Inner Bradford. A place full of energy and everyday existence. A community of joy and pain, of celebration and struggles. A community of people who find themselves in the middle of our city, trying to make sense of who they are, how they got here and where they go next.

Life can go at such a pace that slowing down and really hearing something authentic about each of us is a rare gift. We have named our community work ‘Restore’. It is a place where all people are welcome, a place where we hold out hope for restoration in life, a place where people can start to find a voice within their community.

This collection of heritage stories and recipes is born through a process of pausing and intentionally seeking to know each other better. Our story represents what we have had to overcome to be the community we are today.
