Sunday 3rd August 2025 – Baptisms and Confirmations

This week we will be celebrating Baptisms and confirmations.  Toby the Bishop of Bradford will be with us.  He will be speaking on Colossians 3:1-17 – this will be an all age communion service at 10.30am at St Paul’s Church.

Our live stream of the service is here. We will start streaming at 10.25am.

To celebrate this special occasion for a number of our church family, we are having a lunch together. Please can you bring your food before 10.30 – this will help us plan.  Please don’t bring anything that needs cooking or preparing in the morning. We don’t have space or time in the Kitchen for it.  Sorry!

ALSO please remember to bring a thermos full of boiling water if you can.  We help to bring the pool up to temperature.  Here is a video from a few years ago to give you an idea.

New Bishop of Leeds – Consultation

As you probably knew Bishop Nick is retiring this year.  The Diocese have begun a consultation into what sort of Bishop we would like next!  You can fill in the online form with your thoughts.

If you want to think about it the questions are:

  • What are your three hopes for the future of the church in your community?
  • What three words describe the main skills and qualities the next bishop needs to have, to help us grow in confidence as a diocese?
  • What is the one thing you want to say to the next Bishop of Leeds?

Kites for Peace

On 17th August at 2pm Cecil Arts will be holding an event for peace.  Details on this poster.  It is based on a poem by a professor killed in Gaza.
