Sunday 19th June 2022 | Parish Communion with Sunday School – New Series

This Sunday we start a new Sermon Series – More than a song, Coming back to the heart of worship – taken from the 1990s song.  The first lines of the song probably explain what the series is about best.

When the music fades
All is stripped away
And I simply come
Longing just to bring
Something that’s of worth
That will bless Your heart
I’ll bring You more than a song
For a song in itself
Is not what You have required
You search much deeper within
Through the ways things appear
You’re looking into my heart
I’m coming back to the heart of worship
And it’s all about You
It’s all about You, Jesus
I’m sorry, Lord, for the thing I’ve made it
When it’s all about You
It’s all about You, Jesus

Our Bible reading will be Psalm 51 – with a the sermon titled “What is worship?”

Last week we explained that we’ve got 2 new series on the go – Breakfast Church will now cover the “I am” sayings.  But ‘other’ Sundays will follow this new series on Worship.

Fountain’s Church are delighted to be hosting ‘Riding Lights – My Place’ on Wednesday 25th May on behalf of Bradford Churches. There is no charge for the tickets but we will be asking people to donate if they are able (usual cost is £10 per ticket).

WHAT’S THE STORY OF MY PLACE?

Both entertaining and thought-provoking, My Place follows the stories of four children in care. An individual child, a pair of siblings and an unaccompanied child refugee. They have different backgrounds and journeys, brought to life through a range of colourful story-telling techniques, including song and spoken word. Each story highlights the need for all vulnerable children to have a safe, stable and loving home where they can thrive.

WHO ARE HOME FOR GOOD?

Home for Good is a charity that exists to find a home for every child who needs one. We hope to inspire and equip individuals and families to open their homes and hearts to children and teenagers through fostering, adoption and supported lodgings. We also resource churches to be a welcoming and supportive community for all families who care for vulnerable children and advocate on their behalf at all levels of government. Home for Good is thrilled to have this opportunity to join with Riding Lights in presenting My Place.
