Rev Denise Poole

I came to Bradford in 1972 with my husband. I have enjoyed ministry in this multicultural city so much that we stayed! For some years, I was involved in community adult education: particularly for the South Asian community. Lots of great relationships led to an interest in how the church can be a confident presence in a Muslim context. Building relationships, contributing to community wellbeing and witnessing to Jesus.

After ordination in 1993 I have had a varied ministry. Curate, Hospital Chaplain, Vicar of an inner-city Church, DDO, Bishop’s Chaplain and Diocesan Ministry and Mission Officer. I serve as a trustee for a number of local and national charities.

My passion is the work we do as Christians in serving the most vulnerable in our society. Working with different Faith communities and in sharing  the love of Christ in word and deed. I can recommend Bradford; working out the great commission to ‘make disciples’ in this place is a privilege and a challenge.
