Sunday 19th November 2023 – Follow me: Rich Young Ruler

Matthew 19:24 Bible quote

This week we are gathering together at 10:30am at St Paul’s Church for our Parish Communion service

We are still looking at what it means to be a disciple of Jesus in 2023

Our Scripture reading will be from Matthew 19. 16-30

(To get notices on this page please email – we can’t promise to put all on – but will do our best!)

As a parish we are looking forward to celebrating baptisms on 26th November!  Next Week. Please make sure to attend as we celebrate new members of the Church family.  We will be having a Bring and Share lunch afterwards.  So please bring lunch with you with a bit more to share with others!  Also we usually bring a flask of boiling water if possible as our contribution to the water of baptism.  This gives us all a sense of involvement – and it also makes it warmer for the candidates! (Click here to remind yourself what we do!)

Operations Manager

As a Parish we have funding for 3 new posts.  2 Part Time Mission Apprentices and 1 Operations Manager.  We still haven’t appointed these key roles.  Currently your clergy are dealing with the administration and the management of the buildings etc, but we could pay someone else to do that.  Can you pray and fast with us for this?  We are choosing Wednesdays.  Fast in any way you want to that will remind you to pray.  TV, food, coffee – it is up to you.  We are praying that these posts will be filled by the end of the year!

Remembrance Service in Heaton Graveyard

Sorry – the links didn’t work last week. Trying again!!  It was good to pause with members of Heaton Community and 60 children from Heaton St Barnabas to remember those from the area who lost their lives in the 2 World Wars.  Peace must be treasured more than ever!  Photos available here.

There are many in our parish who regularly give to the church through a Direct Debit to our bank account. If you do – firstly thank you so much for your generosity! It would be a great help though if you transferred across to using the Parish Giving Scheme. As charity rules, tax claims etc become more complicated it is increasingly becoming a big task to claim back the 20% we can get on top of your gift. Joining the Parish Giving Scheme makes it all so much easier for us – and easier for you too! Please speak to Zarine if you want to know more about it – or click the links!
