Saturday 16th November – Performance of ‘Petite Messe Solennelle’

We are excited to invite you to an extraordinary musical event – the Bradford Festival Choral Society (BFCS) is honored to welcome BBC Proms organ recitalist Jonathan Scott for a performance of Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle on Saturday, 16 November at Price Hall, Bradford Grammar School.

This special evening will feature Jonathan Scott on the harmonium—a rare chance to experience this incredible instrument up close, played by one of the finest musicians of our time. Jonathan, fresh from his stunning performance at the BBC Proms, will also host a pre-concert demonstration at 6:45 pm, sharing insights into the harmonium’s rich and nuanced sounds. If you’ve never heard the harmonium in a live setting, this is an experience not to be missed!

Under the skilled direction of Thomas Leech, the Bradford Festival Choral Society and our talented soloists—soprano Jenny Stafford, mezzo-soprano Georgia Mae Ellis, tenor Nathan Vale, and baritone Alistair Ollerenshaw—will bring Rossini’s beautiful mass to life, blending the energy of operatic drama with spiritual depth. With Christopher Pulleyn accompanying on piano, this performance promises to be a powerful and inspiring musical journey.

We want this event to be accessible for everyone. BFCS offers free tickets for under-18s and £5 tickets for students, under-30s, and those on low incomes. Standard tickets are £20 (over 60s at £18), with discounts for groups—perfect for church choirs or community groups who may want to attend together.

Come and celebrate an evening of glorious music with us. This concert is an opportunity to hear one of the country’s most celebrated musicians and experience a rare, vibrant performance of Rossini’s work in Bradford.

Get Your Tickets Today: ticketsource.co.uk/bfcs or visit bradfordfestivalchoralsociety.org.uk for more details.

We hope you will join us for this unforgettable night of music and fellowship!
