Sunday 27th March – All Age Parish Worship + Mothering Sunday – Parable of the Lost Son

This Sunday we have a lot to get through.  It’s Mother’s Day. It’s also an All Age service when we worship all together as a Church family.

We are so excited for this series on “Parable of the lost Sheep”. We will be reading from Luke 15:1-7.

Live stream for our service will be available via this link – https://linktr.ee/ParishofGHM

Notices:

Clocks go forward on Saturday night.  So if you don’t change them you’ll be an hour late for Church!

Don’t forget about our Lent Course – “Tales of the Unexpected”

Next Sunday on April 3rd after the service we have our Annual Parochial Church Meeting.  This is an important moment in the life of our Parish, please make every effort to join us!

Ukrainian Refugees

You’ll know that we are supporting a family who work in Ukraine and have recently had to leave.  They have a crisis team in Lviv, western Ukraine and in Krakow, Poland, with folks matching people who need housing/hosting with those offering it.  Many refugees cannot get to the UK without someone here offering to host them.  This is a ‘go between’ with people known to us.  Please  contact us if you’re interested.

Whole Parish WhatsApp Group.

You’ll know that each of our 4 churches has a Prayer Group on WhatsApp that we use to keep in touch and to send prayer requests around quickly.  We are making ANOTHER Group called

“GHM News and Praise.”

This will be for the whole Parish.  We will not post more than once a day and replies will be disabled so it is information only and less interactive. It will be a quick way to send a piece of news around the whole Parish.  The updates about Pantry and reminders of weekly events will be on there – not the individual prayer groups.

Do you want to join this group…….?

If you’re reading this on your phone you can click here to join.

If you’re reading this on a computer you can scan this code to join. (We’ll also send an invite around the Prayer groups.)

Our Annual Meeting will be on 3rd April after the morning International Service.  Please try your best to attend this important meeting.

Lent retreat with Bishop Toby on Saturday 2nd April in Bradford Cathedral with a 9:30 for 10am start and finishing by 1pm.

This retreat morning will be an opportunity for many of us and our congregations/communities to find a lenten space to meet with God. This will be a time to enjoy the Cathedral space, to pray, reflect and to bring to God some at least of what we are carrying. There will be prayer-stations, brief reflections from Bishop Toby on the hours and other resources, but also space for those who want to shape the time for themselves in different ways.

This latest piece of art at St Paul’s is called ‘Gathered‘ bringing people at the Monday Place of Welcome together for a shared activity.  People from England, Scotland, Pakistan, Bulgaria, Morocco and Kenya have all made the circles together, cutting them out of fabric, sewing a hem around the edge and then gathering them in to make the smaller circles.  They look better arranged and gathered together than individual circles on their own.  They are all different shapes, colours and sizes, just like us.
